W. Peter Graper, MD, MS

Peter Graper, a thoracic and vascular surgeon from Sarasota, completed his graduate training at Duke and Harvard University Medical Schools. Many of his journal publications address issues pertaining to Gastroenterology and Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and he has had a lifelong interest in bioethics. His 25-years of service to the Sarasota community have included surgical and teaching appointments. He currently serves as a surgeon and as Associate Chief Medical Officer at two hospitals in Sarasota. Dr. Graper holds fellowships in the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Chest Physicians and American Heart Association. His memberships are held in the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, Florida Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, and the Southern Thoracic Surgical Association. Recognized by The Annals of Thoracic Surgery for performance during the past eighteen years as a guest reviewer, Dr. Graper has also served as the Past President, Heartland Division, of the American Heart Association and in consultancy roles.

Kenneth E. Schultz, MD, MBA, FACP, FACEP

Kenneth Schultz, who is board certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, completed his medical doctorate at SUNY with an internship in General Surgery and residency in Internal Medicine. He undertook a Fellowship in General Internal Medicine at hospitals affiliated with the University of Miami and received his MBA from Temple University. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American College of Emergency Physicians. For the past two decades, Dr. Schultz has specialized in Risk and Claims Management issues for large medical groups through his appointments as Director of the Risk and Claims Management Division of Bettinger, Stimler, Schultz & Associates, LLC, and as President of Skyview Loss Prevention Services, LLC. For seventeen years, Dr. Schultz was the Medical Director, Corporate Risk Management, for EMS, the forerunner of InPhyNet Medical Management, Inc. of Fort Lauderdale. He also served as Director of Emergency Medicine at a large Pennsylvania teaching hospital for eight years. Dr. Schultz has worked extensively with hospital administrators, medical staff and directors of hospital based departments, quality improvement specialists and EMS systems leaders. To date, he has managed over 1,200 professional liability incidents, claims and suits while supervising PLI programs with aggregate limits as high as $55-million. He currently holds Board Level and Executive Management appointments to several medical liability captive insurance companies.

Michael J. Gerardi, MD, FAAP, FACEP

Michael Gerardi is board-certified in emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine and internal medicine, and is practicing in adult and pediatric emergency medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital and Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, NJ. He is Director for Pediatric Emergency at Overlook Hospital and has a faculty appointment at the University of New Jersey Medical School Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry. Michael Gerardi is a recent past chair of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Committee of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and a current member of their Legal Committee. He has served as past President of ACEP’s New Jersey Chapter and on the Pediatric Subcommittee of the American Heart Association’s Emergency Cardiovascular Care Committee. Dr. Gerardi is on the Board of Directors of the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation and the South Carolina Captive Insurance Association. He is President of Superior Risk Retention Group and frequently lectures throughout the country on emergency medicine topics.

Robert F. Pendrak, MD, MS, ARM

Robert Pendrak’s MD from Hahnemann Medical College, Philadelphia, his MS in Healthcare Risk Management from Finch University of Health Sciences, Chicago, his Associate in Risk Management, certification by the Professional Academy for Healthcare Management, and diplomate gained through the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review, have supported his 25 years of experience in medical practice, insurance and risk management, and his service in a senior management role with a major national provider since 1987. Dr Pendrak’s background also includes several memberships and appointments in professional associations, and his contributions include publication of articles, and speaking engagements. Dr. Pendrak has held the following positions: Acting Medical Director for Silver Spring Health Plan with PHICO Insurance Company (PA); Medical Director for Highmark Blueshield (PA); and Director in private practice with Pendrak, Kandra, Fierer, Kuskin Associates in Harrisburg, PA., which provides Internal Medicine services to the community.

Jay Ellenby, MD, FACS

Jay Ellenby practices in plastic and reconstructive surgery and has served his community in the Miami area for over 30 years. Following attainment of his medical doctorate from the University of Illinois, and after serving as a Surgical Officer in the U.S. Navy, Dr. Ellenby undertook additional training through a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery in Uppsala, Sweden. He has held teaching positions in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine. He holds several memberships in plastic and reconstructive surgery societies both nationally and internationally. Among others, these include the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Ellenby has served as Past President of the Greater Miami Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has authored journal publications on topics such as augmentation mammaplasty, chemical peel and face lifting.
