Reliable Coverage
For three decades, physician groups have been searching for answers to the medical malpractice insurance dilemma.
In the last four years the crisis has extended over more than 20 states and has been manifest in soaring insurance
premiums or the withdrawal of insurers from the marketplace. Instability has been pervasive. The goal of Doctors and
Surgeons National RRG is to provide a reliable source of insurance while stabilizing premium costs. A risk retention
group provides an excellent vehicle for these ambitions because of the restrained scope of its venture. At the core
of DSNRRG's reliability are expert managers armed with a simple business plan, strong capitalization, conservative
analysis of risk, and strict underwriting guidelines.
Physician Ownership
Physician ownership is mandated by the legislation governing risk retention groups and helps to democratize strategic decision-making. Physician owners are asked to participate in the election of the Board of Directors, to respond to amendments in the bylaws, and to participate in the day-to-day operations of essential committees. Participation among individual members of the Doctors & Surgeons National RRG may vary considerably, but through this structure your interests are represented at every level by your peers within the Group.
